GP Nurse Recruitment

If you have nurses planning to retire or are struggling to fill your nurse vacancies we have a solution, Return To Practice (RTP) Nurses might be the answer to your short-term or longer-term staffing challenges.

RTP students can work as a paid HCA or on a volunteer basis while acquiring the skills to get back on the NMC register and take a relatively short time to re-train (usually 6 months) with course fees paid. Participating GP practices receive HEE funding of £500 in return for mentoring the RTP GP Nurse.

We are promoting RTP GP Nurse initiative via social media to attract any nurses thinking about returning to work.

If you’re interested in this opportunity and would like to 'test out' future employees please complete the attached RTN Expression of Interest form and return it to CAPCCG.CPDPrimaryCare@nhs.net

Primary care digital transformation conference

19 April, 10am-5pm, Granta Centre, Cambridge

NHS England’s Patient Online team has organised a series of regional conferences in April and May on primary care digital transformation to offer help and support to those in the front line – and to discuss what role digital will play in primary care in the future. Each day is split into morning and afternoon sessions and delegates can attend the full day or just one of the two sessions.

The morning session is aimed at GPs and their practice staff and will provide useful information which can be adopted by practices, along with support in offering GP Online Services to patients. Practices will get a clear idea of the benefits they can achieve with a comprehensive implementation of online services.

The afternoon session is aimed at CCG Chief Information Officers, Chief Clinical Information Officers and primary care commissioners and will cover the vision for general practice and the importance of taking advantage of digital opportunities in improving clinical outcomes and GP practice efficiency.
