Misoprostol at Home Services

As you may be aware in August 2018, the UK government announced plans to amend the approval of the class of place where abortion drugs can be administered for the second stage of EMA to include the place in England where the pregnant woman has her permanent address or usually resides. This amendment to the Abortion Act 1967 became effective from 1st January 2019.

Although the CCG does not commission Marie Stopes UK you may see patients looking for advice.

New leaders announced to help deliver the NHS Long Term Plan

A leading GP and one of England’s foremost health experts have been chosen to co-chair a new forum which will help oversee the delivery of the NHS Long Term Plan. Following a nationally-advertised recruitment process, Dr Clare Gerada has been appointed as clinical chair, and Professor Sir Chris Ham as non-clinical chair, of the NHS Assembly. Read more here

EU Exit: Data guidance

Keith Willett, Strategic Commander for EU Exit and Director of Acute Care, and Dawn Monaghan, Head of Data Sharing and Privacy (NHS England), Head of Strategic IG (NHS Digital) and Director Information Governance Alliance, have written to NHS organisations to provide guidance on the actions that they need to take in order to ensure continuity of access to, processing and sharing of personal data as part of the Government’s contingency preparations for a no deal exit.

The EU Exit pages on NHS England’s website are now livewww.england.nhs.uk/eu-exit. As further information relating to the EU Exit preparations becomes available it will be published on these pages. As further updates on each workstream are produced they will also be linked to from these pages.  

Medicines pages on nhs.uk and NHS England’s site

Messages for patients about the continuity of supply of medicines are available on nhs.uk. A Q&A document will also be added to the NHS England website. This information can be shared with patients to help provide reassurance on the contingency planning that has been undertaken to maintain continuity of supply.

Update from the Training Hub:

  • Foundations of Cytology is now available on 19 and 20 November for a bargain £30 !!!!
  • FREE Child and Adolescent Mental Health Practice Training in Peterborough, Huntingdon and East Cambridgeshire.
  • Still places left for the FREE Chaperone training in Peterborough and Huntingdon. Cambridge is already fully booked!!
  • Also there is still availability on Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards for HCAs and Suicide Mitigation for GPs.

Springboard Programme launched for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough System

Cambridgeshire Community Services has commissioned a further Springboard programme for our system and is asking for nominations for the Women’s Development Programme. Attached you will find a leaflet and brochure about the programme which lasts 3 months, consisting of four one day workshops and associated course materials to enhance personal development. The programme is open to all women, who as part of their personal development planning would find such a programme of use, the only stipulation is that Springboard do not recommend a line manager attending with a member of their team so please be aware of this when nominating delegates.

The workshops will be held on the following dates/venues and will run between 9am for registration (9.30am start) and 4.30pm:
