MiDoS Directory of Services

This is a directory of services (DoS) information search tool which will enable care navigators to search for a wide range of health, community and voluntary services across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough (CAP).

This is a web-based search tool linked with a variety of service directories to allow users to search for local services via postcode and free text or service area (Mental Health or Social Care).

Why has MiDoS been introduced?

Following the roll out of the Care Navigation programme, the need for a central DoS became clear very quickly.  As a result, the CCG has worked in partnership with local practices and care navigation champions to develop and pilot the MiDoS search tool.

The aim of this tool is to -

  • Facilitate care navigation within primary care
  • Reduce the time spent looking for appropriate services
  • Provide a central, up to date directory for the whole of CAP
  • Assist staff to get patients seen by the right service, first time

Who can use MiDoS?

To begin with this search tool will be accessed via practice desktops for the use of health professionals such as care navigators and receptionists.  Each practice will be set up with an online MiDoS account with a shared username and password.

The general public cannot currently use MiDoS webtool, however, a MiDoS app is in development which would allow patients to access this search tool supporting independence and self-care.  The utility of this tool is currently under review.

How will MiDoS be maintained and kept up to date?

The service information comes from a range of sources from the NHS Pathways DoS, Local Authority and Voluntary Sector databases.

The DoS will be managed, maintained and continually updated centrally via the CCG DoS leads.  There is a feedback process in place where issues, questions and proposals for further developments can be raised with the CCG DoS Leads.

Intuiti Solutions Ltd will maintain the technical elements and provide support as needed.

When will MiDoS be available?

This search tool will be made available to practices as a tool kit over the summer of 2018.

In preparation for this roll out we have arranged a series of demonstrations across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough –
